Arturo Varak

I was born in Nuevo Laredo, a Mexican city located right on the Texas border. My passion for music began when I was about five years old while participating in kindergarten school programs.

Later, as a teenager, I learned to play acoustic guitar and wrote my first songs. I published a few of these and some were my entry ticket to singing contests put on by a local radio station. I participated in singing festivals, recorded jingles for radio commercials, and even worked as a wedding singer for a short period of time. Then I participated in TV shows such as "A que no te atreves", "El Show de Cristina" and "Sábado Gigante Internacional" on the Univisión network. In the latter I won second place in the singing category of the Estrellas del Futuro (Stars of the Future) competition. I got a lot of experience from all these performances. However, stage experience is not the only thing required to become a popular singer-songwriter.

In 2006 when social media and internet video were just beginning to boom, I tried to gain popularity by singing in Spanish for the Latin music market in the United States, so I recorded and released my first professional album from which the song "Eh, mentirosa" was promoted. From the same album, the song "Layla" allowed me to win first place as a composer in the Latin category of the International Songwriting Competition online. I did not get any more achievements with such project and I like to think that it was not my time yet because other important events were about to happen in my life. I got married, became a father and also became a music teacher, a job I still do.

Today, stronger than before, my desire to become a renowned singer-songwriter who can share his songs with people from all over the world continues. It will be the best way to inspire others to never stop working hard to make their dreams come true. October 2022 marks the launch of my new project "Por Amor A La Música", a TV show where I will present other musical artists and also share my new songs.

The last piece of advice my father gave me before he passed was, "Be happy. Never let anything or anyone stop you from being happy".  Today I honor his life by following his advice. I live happily while doing what I love, singing my songs to the world.
